Description
The dandelion is an herbaceous plant with a perennial, fusiform root. The leaves, which spring immediately from the root, are long, pinnatifid, and generally runcinate, with the divisions toothed, smooth, and of a fine green color. The species grows spontaneously in most parts of the world but abundantly in the United States. The dried rhizome and root of the Dandelion were official in the United States Pharmacopeia, 1831-1926.
